Testimonials

Highly recommend

My 16 year old son really enjoys participating in the monthly ‘Your Space’ sessions that are run by DCF. He has also attended the dance sessions; even throughout lockdown when times were tough for everyone. This charity is great for building self-esteem, teaching social skills and preparing the young people for life ahead by encouraging debates on important and interesting topics. The staff at Duffus Foundation are kind, caring and understanding towards those who may be struggling or going through a difficult time.

Engaging Sessions

Helen and the team have delivered an engaging series of sessions to a number of our students ranging from year 7 to year 10. The team are both personable and professional which has enabled our students to thoroughly enjoy and get the most out of the sessions. The work provided by the charity supports schools by providing students with an additional layer of support, with the purpose of building self-esteem and resilience. We highly recommend working with the charity and hope they continue to secure enough funding in the future to ensure they can continue to provide this invaluable provision.

Motivating

I like that it’s non-judgemental and I can be myself.

Skill Building

My Daughter is very happy to be part of the Your Space group and when kids are off school they provide the best trips for the children.  My daughter has gained some lovely friends which help with her well-being and social skills.

Links To PSHCE

The Right Track Programme was good, with varied activities to engage all the children.  There was an obvious appreciation of different learning styles and individual challenges and all children were encouraged appropriately.
The children really enjoyed the sessions, they ran smoothly and they related well to our PSHE curriculum and the work being covered in class for wellbeing.

Reflective

The sessions allow me the chance to work on how to respond to my emotions.  I learnt that there’s different ways to deal with stress/anxiety.

Lovely Environment

The environment they provide is lovely, inclusive and welcoming. I have seen a positive influence on my younger cousin who attends one of their Your Space Youth Groups. It’s amazing to see an organisation promoting wellbeing and mental health for young people. The session looks fun and I wish I had the same support when I was younger. All their sessions and trips are free and I would recommend it for any young person looking for a safe space to grow their confidence and self-esteem.

Priceless Impact

Seeing our son last night, after the Your Space session, reminded me why the charity is so important and the difference it can make. From the day our son started the Right Track program to now we, his family, have seen growth in a young person’s ability to cope with and interact with the world. This change has made a priceless impact on a young person’s life and that of his immediate family. He is so proud of DCF and what it has done for him. He, himself, recognises the positive impact the charity has made.

Fantastic Series of Workshops

Our children really enjoyed attending the series of workshops and it was amazing to see how much the children gained from this experience. The children were all fully engaged and were excited to attend every week. They loved taking part in the different activities that included sorting activities, team work and boxing. The staff delivering the workshops were fantastic and quickly built relationships with the different groups attending the workshops. The children were all involved through the sessions and loved the ice breaker activities. We really saw a difference in the confidence of some of our children with low self-esteem. The children developed an understanding of stress and different ways to manage this. All in all really great workshop that developed our children’s self-esteem and emotional resilience. Thank you!
